The DERNORD Sanitary Spool Tube with Clamp Ends is a great addition for any stainless steel 304 seamless round tubing system. It is built with a 4 inch tri clamp ferrule flange and has a tube length of 12 inches (305mm). The product appears to be designed to weld, not solder. Some customers have had difficulty soldering the product, despite trying various types of flux. However, others have mentioned that the unit solders well without any effort. One customer purchased the product to use as a dry hopper on their conical fermenter as a sight glass replacement. The spool tube worked great, holding well over 8 oz of hops. Another customer had difficulty getting the tube to seal, but eventually, they were able to lap the tri clamp connection with silicon carbide sandpaper on a surface stone, and the product sealed well after that.
