Users can set it to either turn on when power is restored or maintain its state before losing power using the Power Loss Recovery setting. It is not certified for outdoor use but is rated for use in damp locations. Connecting to the bulb's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is required, and the white version connects in the same way. Based on customer reviews, the bulb’s firmware situation is problematic since it ships with old firmware that cannot be updated from the app. The app is slow, crashes often, has a ten-second lag, doesn't open at times, and the actual functionality lacks a widget for turning a bulb or group on and off easily from the home screen. Bulb colors are described as sickly, with low CRI or a flawed color algorithm, while customer support is lacking, with one customer's ticket being closed without resolution. A common issue among users is the bulb frequently becoming disconnected or not working, and updating the firmware is complex.
