Ferplast Karat 60 Hamster and Mouse Glass Cage, 59.5 x 39 x 52.5 cm
The Ferplast Karat 60 Hamster and Mouse Glass Cage is a spacious and sturdy cage that provides plenty of space for enrichment across its three floors. The large size of the cage allows for ample room for mice or small hamsters to move around and play. The glass tank is an attractive feature and helps to contain the mess of bedding and substrate inside the cage. However, some customers have noted a few limitations with the cage. One concern is that the glass tank should be taller to fully satisfy the burrowing instinct of gerbils. The depth of the tank does not allow for enough substrate, and the openings in the cage can make it difficult to remove gerbil babies. Another drawback mentioned by customers is the mess created by substrate being kicked out of the cage, causing hygiene issues and spreading through the house. Some customers have resorted to putting masking tape around each shelf to contain the mess. Overall, the Ferplast Karat 60 Hamster and Mouse Glass Cage is a better option compared to other gerbil houses, but it may not fully meet the needs of gerbils due to the limited substrate space. However, it is highly recommended for mice due to its size and quality.
