Vicks NyQuil SEVERE Cold and Flu Relief Liquid Berry Flavored Medicine is a powerful medicine that provides nighttime relief for nine symptoms of cold and flu, including fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, sinus pressure, sneezing, and cough. While some customers have complained about the difficulty of opening the bottle and the price, the majority agree that NyQuil is an effective medication that works well in calming cough and helping to sleep. It is advisable to go with the cherry or berry flavor as they work as well without the bad taste. The severe formula lists an extra ingredient, Phenylephrine HCl 10 mg for nasal decongestant. The difference between the severe brand and the regular brand is the additional ingredient and 10mg less of Dextromethorphan HBr (20mg), so it can be more effective in certain cold and flu symptoms.
