This Genie garage door opener is equipped with a 3/4 HP motor that is chain-driven to easily lift an 8' x 16' door. The motor runs quietly and is supported by an extension chain that easy to add, although it didn't come with all the hardware needed to install. The instructions were comprehensive, but some have reported issues with programming the remotes and adjusting the door down tension. Overall, however, the opener has proven to be reliable and works for a well-balanced door of maximum weight up to 500 lbs.
