The actual seat width of this kayak is 15 1/2 inches, and it matches the inside dimensions of the kayak itself. Although the kayak does quite well in salt water, it is advised to rinse with freshwater and take care of the zipper pulls to avoid long-term degradation. The floor air chamber is not removable, and you cannot use it for white water action without buying thigh straps separately. Overall, it is a great product worth the purchase.
