The Moody Blues Format: Audio CD Baroque Pop 4113977 Editorial Review
** On the Threshold of a Dream** "On the Threshold of a Dream" by The Moody Blues has received a warm reception, with fans praising its blend of excellent vocal harmonies, intricate melodies, and expressive musicianship. Many listeners describe the album as a work of art, appreciating the depth and quality of each track. While opinions vary on certain songs, the overarching Consensus remains positive, highlighting the collective talent of the band members. Notably, songs like "Lovely to See You" and "Never Comes the Day" have become fan favorites, showcasing Justin Hayward's ability to combine alluring melodies with introspective lyrics. Meanwhile, Ray Thomas's contributions, though occasionally polarizing—such as the track "Dear Diary," which some listeners find lacking—do have standout moments like "Lazy Day," displaying the rich tapestry of sounds characteristic of The Moody Blues. Critiques often center around the brevity of some songs, such as "Send Me No Wine" and "To Share My Love," which listeners wished could be longer to fully explore their emotive potential. On the positive side, Mike Pinder's "Have You Heard/The Voyage" is regarded as a hallmark of the album, lauded for its musical complexity and the band's collaborative brilliance. Listeners appreciate the way the drumming, flute harmonies, and keyboard work coalesce into an uplifting experience that resonates strongly, especially during live performances. Overall, "On the Threshold of a Dream" stands out as a reflective and well-crafted album that cements its place in the hearts of progressive rock fans, inviting listeners to delve into its rich soundscapes time and again. **
