The TrueNAS Mini X+ is highly recommended by customers, especially those with experience administrating other storage systems. The Mini X+ has a great build quality, is relatively easy to set up with the provided manual, and features built-in functionality that can be extended through plugins. It is a compact and powerful machine perfect for reliable home file storage. TrueNAS Core software is enterprise class and provides many features present in storage solutions that cost hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars, including support for iSCSI, NFS, SMB, and even S3. The underlying ZFS filesystem offers the ability to make snapshots of datasets and has options for reverting or cloning snapshots to a new dataset. Community support is also available through TrueNAS forums, among other resources. However, there are a few things to look out for. The 2.5'' drive bays were not connected and required the user to take off the sides, clip the wire ties and connect the power supply to the board, something that happens often enough. Also, the 10GB Ethernet ports don't work with some networks, and the login to the web GUI is limited to the root account only. Overall, the TrueNAS Mini X+ offers excellent performance and functionality and is a great choice for small scale/home storage solutions. **
