Rubbing it like this ensures a great bond between the paper and the adhesive, therefore ensuring the glue stays tightly on your adhesive. It only takes a sec and I use this method all the time. I think I have one of every type of Xyron they make and I love them! -

Answer: Refills come on a roll, and they just snap back in. No need to take apart.
