Branston Relish is a sweet and tangy pickle that contains chunky bits of vegetables and a spicy/savory edge to it. It is not the same category as dill or sweet pickles and pickle relishes. It is a chutney that contains vegetables in variable proportions (carrot, rutabaga, onion, cauliflower, marrow, gherkin), sugar, barley malt vinegar, water, spirit vinegar, modified maize starch, date paste, apple pulp, salt, tomato paste, dried spices, lemon juice concentrate, onion powder, colour, and flavoring. The jar should be refrigerated after opening and should be used within months of opening. Several customers complained about receiving the product in a broken jar or an opened and unsealed jar, resulting in lost product or refunds. However, most customers enjoyed the taste, while a few stated it would not appeal to an American palette.
