It can also be used on Trex decking and the results are pretty impressive as it will make the old Trex look brand new. It is not meant for wooden decks. The product is not a deck wash, so it is recommended to use a good deck wash before applying this sealer. Once the deck is clean, applying the Defy Deck Sealer will make it easier to remove pine sap that falls on the deck. DEFY Crystal Clear Composite Deck Waterproofing Sealer is not meant for vertical surfaces; however, using a sponge to apply can make it wet enough to leave a bit of protection after it dries on vertical surfaces.
