The filter works great in removing the larger rust and particles from water. However, it will not change the taste of the water nor is it for use with hot water to get into the filter. The unit has received positive reviews, where many customers find it easy to install, notice a change in the quality of their water, and have had no issues with the filter. Some customers have installed Shark Bites to avoid soldering and torching. There were some negative reviews about difficulties with the filter covers being too tight and leaks. The handle to rotate the filter could be challenging to turn, and the Red button to bleed pressure seems to get water all over the unit. The unit is also clear, so algae tends to grow, and some customers never got the little filter replacement light to work. Some customers would have opted for a different unit in retrospect due to the useless knob functions.
