The Garmin 010-01870-00 Striker Plus 4 with Dual-Beam transducer is highly recommended by its customers due to its QuickDraw Contours feature. The feature is designed to map the body of water you are navigating or fishing, making it easier to explore and catch more fish. It is capable of mapping up to 2 million acres and storing it. The 4-inch screen is large enough to display everything easily. It also has all the features you'd expect on larger boats such as a 58-foot yacht. One customer suggested that it could be used on a fiberglass boat by putting the transducer in a container full of antifreeze. When it comes to installation, the transducer needs to be mounted to the boat transom or shooting thru hull attached with duct seal. The 20 ft cable to the transducer is sufficient for most boats as it can be used with a 12V battery. Although some customers have complained about the transducer not connecting, Garmin has generally stood behind their products. Despite this, most customers are happy with their purchase and describe it as a good, reliable, and relatively affordable unit. Some people even refer it as a 'magic box' that helps them catch more fish.
